Not everything is good news after the keynote of yesterday. Among the different changes that were introduced in the company's products, there is one that has not been mentioned and has gone unnoticed: the price of some iPad models.specifically several models of iPad Pro, which has a price of approximately 50 euros higher.
The reason for the price increase is not simply because Apple has decided to increase its profits, it has to do with the production chain. There is currently a higher demand for flash memory in the technology market, and therefore, supply has become scarce. Manufacturers have raised sales prices given the limited supply. Why is there so much demand? Because each time more SSD memories are manufactured and the memory chips are also in full transition from 2D NAND to 3D NAND.
Apple itself has contributed in a certain sense to the shortage of flash memories. It is the company that possibly more flash memory devices sell around the world: iPhone, iPad, MacBook, iMac .... Luca Maestri himself warned him earlier this year during the fiscal results: they were receiving some pressure from The manufacturers.
The affected models are the following:
iPad Pro 10.5 inches with 256 GB: It goes from 832.81 euros to 899 euros.
iPad Pro 10.5 inches with 512 GB: It goes from 1,052.81 euros to 1,119 euros.
iPad Pro 12.9 inches with 256 GB: It goes from 1,002.81 euros to 1,069 euros.
iPad Pro 12.9 inches with 512 GB: It goes from 1,222.81 euros to 1,289 euros.
Will Apple return to lower prices when the demand for SSDs stabilizes? Anyway, if you do not want to be affected by this price increase you should opt for the basic model with the minimum storage capacity, which is the one that has not changed its price.
