After a dark time, during the last weeks there were great advances in everything related to the Jailbreak. The most significant was the discovery of Ian Beer, from Google Project Zero, which has served in the end to make LiberiOS appear. Published by Jonathan Levin, known as @Morpheus, this is the tool that allows Jailbreak on all iPhones with iOS 11.1.2, including iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 7.
Levin himself warmed up the atmosphere on December 24, when from his Twitter account he predicted that soon iOS would again have Jaibreak. This has been and today has released the LiberiOS tool that allows Jailbreak on iPhones with iOS 11.1.2. At the moment, there are certain limitations since it is about semi-tethered Jailbreak. More important is the absence of a compatible official version of Cydia.
Jailbreak for iPhones with iOS 11.2.1
Although with limitations, came the day of Jailbreak for iPhones with iOS 11.1.2. Actually, LiberiOS is compatible with iPhones that include iOS 11, iOS 11.0.1, iOS 11.0.2, iOS 11.0.3, iOS 11.1, iOS 11.1.1 and iOS 11.1.2. Also, there are no restrictions and compatible models correspond to the iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE and iPhone 5s. It is also available for AppleTV with iOS 11 and iOS 11.1.
In the same way, all iPads with iOS 11 are equally compatible with LiberiOS, as well as the sixth generation iPod Touch.
As we have already indicated, the Jailbreak for iOS 11.1.2 comes with limitations. It is a semi-tethered version, which means that we lose the jailbreak once we restart or turn off the iDevice.
Similarly, for now there is no official compatible version of Cydia, so we can not install tweaks from the Saurik store. The same goes for Cydia Substrate. However, once achieved the Jailbreak for iOS 11, it is more than likely that Jay Freeman will take action on the matter and launch a version of Cydia Impactor compatible.
Installation with LiberiOS
If in spite of everything you are interested in the Jailbreak, Jonathan Levin has already published the IPA file that will allow us to unblock the compatible iPhones. You have the download link from the developer's website. It aims to only download LiberiOS from this link to avoid downloading modified versions with malware.
The following steps require Cydia Impactor to achieve the signed file for your device. Once the firmware is loaded it is necessary to associate the new certificate with the profile associated with LiberiOS to later run the LiberiOS app and proceed with the final steps of the Jailbreak.
