Yesterday, Apple presented its economic figures for the third quarter and these could not have been better, even without having launched the iPhone 8. After more than a year of continuous declines, the iPad has surprised its own and strangers in the results by being the gadget that has rebounded the most from the company of the bitten apple, with 15% more.
In this way Cupertino shows that the tablet as a product may have the hours counted, but contrary to what we thought, the iPad concept is more alive than ever. Apple believes firmly in the iPad and does so as a substitute for the laptop, in fact they want to implement it as a replacement for the MacBook Air.
That's why last June they presented two new models of iPad Pro, the 10.5 and 12.9 inches with some improved features that although, did not thrill, if they proved that the iPad Pro was a real monster: faster processor, better screen with ProMotion technology and 120Hz refresh rate, among others.
And the play has gone well: more than 11.4 million iPads sold during the third quarter of 2017. This means 15% more compared to the same period last year, where Apple did not reach the 10 million tablets sold. But the improvement is even greater compared to the first quarter of this year, since compared to that period they have achieved 28% more.
But that the iPad Pro is being a success is not the only reading we can do. And we can not forget that Apple also launched a low cost iPad with a price of 399 euros (329 dollars) and some small improvements such as an A9 processor, which has also liked its customers as an affordable alternative.
Normally, the third quarter is not usually good, since there are usually no releases or Christmas period, so it is estimated that Apple's end of the year will be even better.
