It has been just over a month since the official launch of the new iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. And although Apple's most affordable smartphone of 2018 has not yet reached the market, the first rumors and details about the 2019 iPhone line are beginning to appear.
A couple of days ago we were talking about the possibility that TSMC will be exclusively responsible for manufacturing the processors of the iPhone of 2019. Additionally, we have also discovered that Apple's smartphones next year will not have Touch ID integrated into the screen. And now, we know some other detail more.
The iPhone of 2019 will have IP68 water resistance certificate
Ming-Chi Kuo, the popular analyst at KGI Securities, has stated in a publication of the Economic Daily News of Taiwan that Apple will maintain the IP68 water resistance certificate in its line of next-gen smartphones of 2019, without increasing nor diminish their protection.
Apple has made a great effort this year 2018 to improve the water resistance of its iPhone XS, its iPhone XS Max and its iPhone XR by obtaining the IP68 certificate. Prior to this, Apple introduced its iPhone X with IP67 certificate at the end of 2017, its first device with water resistance.
Among other data about the 2019 iPhones, it is rumored that they will continue to have Face ID, and that the company does not plan to include 3D sensors or fingerprint sensors on the back of their devices. In addition, it is believed that in 2019 we will see the final goodbye to the 3D Touch. Finally, as mentioned previously, TSMC will manufacture its A13 chips.
It is also expected that in 2019 the apple company will present a new HomePod model and, perhaps, the second generation of its popular AirPods.
