Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst at KGI Securities, has come back with a new theory according to which he claims that the demand for the iPhone XR in China will be much higher than the demand for the iPhone 8 during the past year.
Sales of smartphones in China have fallen by 10% in the first week of October compared to last year, and this is a very important week for the country known as "Golden Week". Ming-Chi Kuo thinks that the low demand is due to the lack of innovation along with the fact that many consumers are waiting for the launch of the iPhone XR on October 26.
The iPhone XR will be a success in sales
It is very likely that the iPhone XR exceeds, individually, the sales of the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max. This smartphone will come with a price much more affordable and with many of the features present in the iPhone XS line as wireless charging, facial recognition, the same processor and design, but with an LCD screen instead of OLED.
Ming-Chi Kuo wanted to highlight that although the sale of smartphones continues to plummet, Huawei continues to triumph in the country. The company's sales have not been affected in China's Golden Week. It has not happened this way with Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi, who have also seen their sales have dropped as well as the iPhone demand.
The iPhone XR will open its reservation period from October 19, within a week. But its commercial launch will not take place until October 26. So far we only know that sales of the iPhone XS are not bad, but surely the sales of the iPhone XR are even better.
