At WWDC 17, held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California, Apple introduced two new iPad Pro models, a 10.5-inch iPad and a 12.9-inch model update.
Especially in the case of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Apple aims to offer a product focused on productivity that allows users to put aside computers and laptops, in other words, a tablet-PC.
With the arrival of iOS 11 the company of the bitten apple has implemented a series of functions in the iPad Pro software that will allow, little by little, replace the MacBook Air.
The evolution of the iPad Pro
Some time ago, with the launch of the first iPad Pro and despite the efforts of Apple, the tablet became a much more powerful tool than its predecessors but it was still that, a tablet.
The arrival of the Apple Pencil and the Magic Keyboard offered users many more possibilities and more facilities when it comes to working on their projects. But then it was far from replacing any PC.
But now, with the new features of iOS 11, Apple finally has an iPad Pro powerful and functional enough to replace the MacBook Air.
IPad Pro and iOS 11 will provide useful functions such as improvements in Multitasking that allow anchoring applications in a split screen in a much more efficient way or the option to drag elements from one app to another.
In addition, the new iPad Pro comes with a powerful A10X Fusion processor and ProMotion technology, among other new features of its hardware.
With the right applications, and an experienced use, Apple's iPad Pro can replace the MacBook Air.
Obviously, the iPad Pro will not become a replacement for the MacBook Air for everyone, as in the case of Microsoft and its Surface tablet. But it is undeniable that iOS 11 makes the iPad Pro much more powerful, more portable, more versatile, and more functional.
