Despite the boom of the iPad, the sale of laptops continues to be maintained. Apple has always tried to give a productive approach to the iPad, which replaces the laptop but not in all aspects. That is, if someone is comfortable with a MacBook, that is not forced to move to an iPad. And this, in the market figures reverberates.
According to TrendForce, Apple has positioned itself in the last third quarter of 2017 as the fourth best-selling brand of laptops globally. Sales have increased 11% for Apple, while the overall market has increased by 7%. A big rise for Apple thanks to the latest MacBook Pro, globally the increase in sales is probably due to the beginning of the school season.
Earlier this month, Apple announced the best quarter of its history in Mac sales, with a 25% increase in revenue. Of the 5,386,000 Macs that were sold, an estimated 4,430,000 MacBooks, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro. In other words, approximately 82% of the Macs sold have been portable.
Analyzing the TrendForce table, Apple is positioned as the fourth brand of laptops above ASUS, with 10.4% of the market share. These figures are always better to take with tweezers and analyze the data from various sources. Be that as it may, they roam for similar amounts.
What could have made Apple sell so many laptops? Possibly the new MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar, a quite important change that improves a product like the MacBook Pro to which little more can be asked. The Touch Bar, the thinness of the laptop, a better trackpad ... are several features that have made the MacBook Pro the preferred choice for many students who start the school season in the third quarter of the year.
